You submit, a short learner experience survey follows, and the sitting ends. Nothing in the published guidance describes a score or an outcome being shown at that point, so plan on leaving the screen knowing exactly as much as you did before you clicked.

Candidates who expect a number and get a survey can read the silence as bad news. It is not news at all.

Two details in the published CQI IRCA exam results timing

The days are UK working days. Not calendar days. Weekends and UK bank holidays do not count, so 10 working days is a fortnight at best and longer across a holiday period. The count follows the UK working calendar, not your local one.

The result goes to your provider, not to you. It becomes available for the training provider to download. Whatever happens next — an email, a call, a certificate — is your provider’s process rather than CQI’s, so the total time you wait is the published window plus however long your provider takes to pass it on.

When to chase your CQI IRCA ISO 27001 exam result, and who

The published chase point is 14 working days. If nothing has reached you by then, contact your training provider — not CQI and IRCA. The result is made available to the provider, so the provider is the party who can see whether it arrived and raise it if it did not.

Do not wait 14 working days if you might want special consideration. That is roughly 20 calendar days. If CQI issued your result to your provider early in the window, the 14-calendar-day special consideration deadline can expire before the published chase point arrives. Ask your provider on the first day for the date CQI issued it, and diary from that.

Have your details ready: the course, when you sat, and your learner reference if you have one. If your provider does not respond, put the request in writing and keep a copy — a documented attempt made inside the window is worth having if a deadline is later in dispute.

Why the date your result issues matters

Note when the result reaches you, and ask when it reached your provider. Two deadlines run from those two events and both are 14 calendar days. A special consideration application runs from the result being issued to your training provider. An appeal runs from your receiving the result or the decision.

Every question is machine-scored, so the wait is not a marking queue. CQI and IRCA do not explain what fills the ten days, and we are not going to invent an explanation — but scoring answers is not the only thing that happens to a sitting. The proctoring recording is analysed afterwards, and the identification image is compared to the facial image.
