What is the PMP® certification?

What changes in the PMP exam from 9 July 2026?
From 9 July 2026, the PMP exam moves to a re-balanced domain weighting (People 33%, Process 41%, Business Environment 26%), adds scenario-based, graphic, matching and point-and-click question types, aligns to the PMBOK® Guide 8th Edition, and integrates AI and sustainability topics.
What are the PMP eligibility requirements?
You need one of: a high school diploma plus 5 years leading projects; an associate degree or vocational/trade school diploma plus 4 years; a bachelor's degree plus 3 years; or a bachelor's/postgraduate degree from a PMI GAC program plus 2 years. All pathways also require 35 hours of project management training.
Do I need to train with a PMI Authorized Training Partner?
From late Q4 2026, PMI will only accept the mandatory 35 contact hours if they were delivered by a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP), a PMI GAC-accredited academic program, or an active CAPM® holder's waiver. 3FOLD is a PMI Authorized Training Partner, so training with us keeps your hours valid now and after the change.
Do active CAPM® holders still need the 35-hour training?
No. Active Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® credential holders are waived from the 35-hour training requirement under PMI's eligibility rules.
How is the PMP exam structured?
The exam has 180 questions (170 scored, 10 unscored pretest items) delivered over 4 hours (240 minutes) with two 10-minute breaks. You can sit it at a Pearson VUE test center or via online proctoring, and you may retake it up to three times within one year.
How much does 3FOLD's PMP training cost?
3FOLD's 35-hour live online PMP training is USD 390 (AED 1,433), inclusive of VAT/GST. The official PMI application and exam fee is billed separately by PMI and varies by membership status and country.
How do I maintain my PMP certification after passing?
The PMP is valid for three years. To renew, you must earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) within each three-year cycle by learning, teaching, presenting, reading, volunteering or creating content — reported through PMI's CCRS system.
Is PMP training available online?
Yes. 3FOLD delivers PMP training as live, instructor-led virtual classroom sessions on weekends, with 1-year LMS access to recordings, practice questions and study materials so you can revise on your own schedule.
How long does it take to become PMP certified with 3FOLD?
