You passed the Certified Cost Professional (CCP) exam, so now you want employers to see it. Where the credential goes, and how you word it, both matter. This guide shows how to add CCP to your CV and LinkedIn. It also says plainly where AACE International (AACEI) gives no detail.
Quick answer
Add the Certified Cost Professional (CCP) credential to a certifications section on your CV and to the Licenses and certifications section on LinkedIn. Name AACE International (AACEI) as the issuer, and add your certification date. AACEI offers a free digital badge that you can embed in LinkedIn if you opt in. The AACEI pages that we checked do not state rules for initials or logos, so ask first.
Adding CCP at a glance
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Credential name | Certified Cost Professional (CCP) |
| Issuing organization | AACE International (AACEI) |
| Digital badge | Free through BadgeCert; you must opt in |
| Where AACEI says to share it | Email signatures, web pages, LinkedIn and other social media profiles |
| Verification | Public Certified Directory confirms current status |
| Certification term | 3 years |
| Designation and logo rules | Not stated on the pages we checked; ask AACEI |
Where does CCP go on your CV?
A CV is short, so the credential must be easy to find. First, add a certifications section. Then mention the credential once in your summary line. These are our suggestions, not AACEI rules.
The certifications section
List the full name first: Certified Cost Professional (CCP). Then add the issuer, AACE International (AACEI), and the month and year that you were certified. For cost and planning roles, place this section near the top.
The summary line
Also use the credential in your opening summary. For example, write that you are a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) with experience in cost control. Keep the claim to what AACEI actually awards.
Initials after your name
The AACEI pages that we checked do not state rules for using the designation or logo. Therefore, ask AACEI at certification@aacei.org before you add initials or a logo. Until then, use the full credential name.

How do you add CCP to LinkedIn?
LinkedIn has a Licenses and certifications section. Add the CCP there, so that recruiters can find it in a search. However, LinkedIn can change its layout, so check the current fields.
The profile entry
Enter the credential name, Certified Cost Professional (CCP), and the issuing organization, AACE International. Then add the issue date. Also add an expiry date if LinkedIn asks for one, and confirm it with AACEI first.
The digital badge
AACEI provides a free BadgeCert digital badge to active certificate holders. You must opt in through the online form on the AACEI BadgeCert page. AACEI says that you can embed the badge in LinkedIn, email signatures, web pages and other social media profiles.
Your headline and About section
You can also mention the credential in your headline or your About section. For example, add one sentence about your cost control experience. Keep it factual, because employers can check your status.
Keep every claim easy to check.
Which wording keeps it accurate?
Accurate wording protects your credibility. The table below shows what we suggest and what to avoid.
| Item | Suggested wording | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Credential name | Certified Cost Professional (CCP) | Certified CCP, or CCP certified before you have your result |
| Issuer | AACE International (AACEI) | Leaving the issuer blank |
| Date | Month and year that you were certified | A date from before your result |
| Expiry | Valid to month and year, confirmed with AACEI | An open-ended claim after the term ends |
| Summary line | Certified Cost Professional (CCP) with experience in cost control | Claims that AACEI does not make |
Also, add the credential only after AACEI confirms that you passed. Results are not immediate. Our guide on when you get CCP exam results explains the wait.
Can you build your entry now?
Enter your certification date and choose a style. Then the builder writes a CV line and the LinkedIn dates.
CV and LinkedIn entry builder
For planning only. Enter your certification date. The builder then writes a CV line and the LinkedIn dates. It estimates the expiry as 3 years after your date, so confirm it with AACEI.
About this example: it starts with a certification date of 1 January 2027 and the full line with an expiry date. As a result, it shows a CV line that is valid to January 2030.

How do you keep it up to date?
Your certification runs for a 3-year term. Therefore, update your CV and LinkedIn whenever you recertify. Our guide to CCP recertification CEUs explains the units, and our guide on what you get after you pass covers the badge and the term.
Check your public status
Employers can look you up in the public Certified Directory. AACEI says that it may not reflect updates in real time. Therefore, check your own entry now and then.
If your term ends
If your certification lapses, update your profile to match. This is our suggestion. In short, the dates on your CV should always match your real status.
