Plans change, so an exam date can move. AACE International (AACEI) lets you change your Certified Cost Professional (CCP) exam booking, but a 72-hour notice period decides what it costs. This guide explains the rule, then shows how to reschedule and says plainly where AACEI gives no detail.
Quick answer
AACE International (AACEI) sets a 72-hour notice period for changing your Certified Cost Professional (CCP) exam booking. With more than 72 hours of notice, you can reschedule through your Kryterion test taker profile at no added cost. With 72 hours or less, you must contact AACEI certification staff, and a fee can apply. AACEI has a strict no-refund policy, and a no-show counts as an attempt.
The 72-hour rule at a glance
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Awarding body | AACE International (AACEI) |
| Credential | Certified Cost Professional (CCP) |
| Notice period | 72 hours |
| More than 72 hours | Reschedule through your Kryterion profile at no added cost |
| 72 hours or less | Contact AACEI certification staff; a fee can apply |
| Refunds | Strict no-refund policy |
| Registration window | 6 months from your clearance email |
| Attempts | Up to 3, two at a reduced fee |
How does the 72-hour rule work?
AACEI’s examination delivery page says that you can reschedule or cancel without forfeiting your fee if AACEI receives notice 72 hours before the exam. AACEI’s certification FAQs then split the rule in two. A change made more than 72 hours before the exam is a reschedule, and a change made 72 hours or less before it is a cancellation.
| Your notice | What you can do | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| More than 72 hours | Reschedule through your Kryterion test taker profile | No added cost |
| 72 hours or less | Contact AACEI certification staff | A fee can apply; AACEI does not state the amount |
| No change made | You miss the exam | No-show: scheduling fee forfeited and one attempt used |
However, the two AACEI pages word the boundary slightly differently. Therefore, do not cut it close. Change your booking well before the 72-hour mark. This is our advice, not an AACEI rule.
How do you reschedule your exam?
First, with more than 72 hours of notice, change your booking through your Kryterion test taker profile. AACEI states that this carries no added cost. Also, our guide to test center and online options explains how the booking works.
Choose a new date with care
First, check your six-month registration window. Then pick a date that leaves room for the monthly grading cycle. Our guide on when you get CCP exam results explains the cycle.
Confirm the new booking
After you change the booking, check the confirmation email. Then you can see your new start time and your Test Taker Authorization Code. Also note the time zone, because the deadline depends on it.

What if you are inside 72 hours?
Contact AACEI certification staff at certification@aacei.org. For example, AACEI says that a fee can apply to a change made inside 72 hours. However, the pages that we checked do not state the amounts.
Do not simply miss the exam
A no-show is worse, because you forfeit your scheduling fee, and the missed appointment counts as one of your exam attempts. Also, our guide on arriving late and no-show rules explains the detail.
Change your booking early. A change in time costs less than a no-show.
Can you get a refund?
AACEI has a strict no-refund policy. It states that refunds are not permitted for a change of mind, and that a cancelled exam is not refunded either. Still, AACEI may grant a refund for an AACEI computer system error or human error by AACEI staff.
Are you still outside the window?
Enter your exam time and the current time. Then the checker shows whether you can still reschedule at no added cost.
72-hour deadline checker
For planning only. Enter your exam date and time and the current date and time, both in the same time zone. The checker then shows whether you are still outside the 72-hour window.
About this example: it starts with an exam on 16 November 2026 at 09:00 and a current time of 10 November 2026 at 09:00. As a result, it shows that the window closes on 13 November 2026 at 09:00, with 3 days left.

Does rescheduling affect your attempts?
AACEI states that a no-show counts as one of your exam attempts. However, the pages that we checked do not say that a reschedule made in time uses an attempt. You have up to three attempts within your six-month registration period, and two of them are at a reduced fee.
Start soon after clearance
AACEI recommends that you schedule soon after you receive clearance. Then you keep time in reserve for a change of date. Also, our guide to the CCP exam retake rules explains what happens after an unsuccessful attempt.
Where can you get help?
Scheduling problems go to Kryterion candidate services, which AACEI says operate around the clock except as otherwise noted. However, for changes inside 72 hours, contact AACEI certification staff.
