Easy steps to follow while applying for the Certified Cost Professional Exam:
Before submitting the CCP Certification Exam Application, it is a must to check the eligibility requirements. Here is the summary of how to apply for the CCP Exam
A. Check your qualifications:
i) Prerequisite: CCP aspirants must meet the following requirements in order to apply for the exam:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree: Must have at least 4 years of work experience.
- Diploma Holder: Needs to present 8 years of work experience.
ii) The work experience must be related to:
- Basic Cost Engineering Skills and Knowledge
- Economic Analysis
- Project Management
- Cost Estimating and Control

There are 5 sections you need to fill up on the application form for the CCP Certification. It is important that all requirements have been satisfied by the system.
If you are unable to finish the process because you still lack some of the requirements, you may simply exit the application.
Do not worry as all your documentation will be saved and you may resume later when you are ready. Please check below:
1. Industry-Related Experience: In the exam application form, the following must be entered for the verification of work experience:
- Dates of service;
- Title;
- A brief description.
Your current employer may verify your past employment by indicating your background was conducted as part of their hiring process
Note: AACEI does not accept CV applications, job descriptions, employment contracts, or another organization’s certification as verification of employment
If you are self-employed, you are required to submit an AACE of Self-employment Verification Document. All verification documents must be in English or have an official English translation attached.
If you are currently employed, enter the date of your employment for the end date. If you have experience with documentation from more than one employee, you must either combine your documentation in one PDF document to upload or add each employer separately and upload each document accordingly.
2. Industry-Related Education: To meet this requirement you
- Must have a copy of your diploma or transcripts;
- Provide the graduation date;
- If you want to submit more than one degree, combine your documentation into one pdf or add each degree to upload each document accordingly.
3. Technical Paper and Affidavit:
- Enter the name of your Technical Paper
- Technical Paper Date – Enter the date your paper was written. It should be within the last 3 years; not more than.
- Define the purpose of the Technical Paper.
- Written specifically for CCP certification
- Written for a presentation or published article
- Written for Thesis or Dissertation
- Upload the Technical Paper. It must be in MS Format, others will be rejected
4. Canon of Ethics:
Review and agree with the Canon of Ethics. This is mandatory to proceed to the next steps, i.e, to pay and submit your Certified Cost Professional Exam application.
5. Payment: You are given two options on how to make your payment for the CCP Certification Exam.
1. You can either pay using a credit card or a cheque;
2. AACE Wire transfer Payment Policy (Credit card or debit card);
It requires you to provide the following:
- Name;
- AACE Identity Number;
- A brief description of the purpose of the transfer.

If you prefer to pay by cheque, address to AACE International 1265 Suncrest Town Centre Dr. Morgantown WV 26505-1876.
Note: In this option, the application status will be marked as Application unpaid, and it will be updated once the payment has been credited to the AACE Account.
Application Review:
The status of your Certified Cost Professional Exam application will be updated in Staff Review upon submitting the application. It means that your application is being reviewed. The ACCE ensures that all eligibility requirements are met before providing clearance to schedule your examination.
In case of a problem, the AACE will notify you within 45 days, depending on the complexity of your application requirements or the level of applications being processed.
Examination Clearance:
AACE will send you an email along with instructions on how to schedule your CCP examination at a Kryterion testing center if you get the approval.
You are given 6 months to schedule your exam from the date of clearance or approval. You may appear for the CCP exam three times. You are entitled to a discounted price for the other two attempts.
