Days 1–45: Build the foundation with the study guide

Start with the 300+ page study guide, since it's aligned with the 2026 exam blueprint and gives you the full picture of what's tested before you touch anything else. Work through it domain by domain, spending the most time on Managing Project Costs and Interfacing with Other Disciplines, since together these make up around 60% of the scored exam. Treat this phase as building a base layer of knowledge, not memorising every page — you'll return to weaker sections later.

Days 46–90: Reinforce with the video lessons

Once you've read through the guide once, move into the 40 on-demand video lessons. Watching a topic after you've already read about it reinforces it far more effectively than watching cold, and because the lessons are on-demand, you can rewatch anything that didn't stick the first time around. By day 90 — the halfway point of your 180 days — you should have been through both the guide and the full video library at least once.

Days 91–120: Practise the memo

This is where most self-directed candidates fall behind, because the Communication Competency memo isn't multiple-choice and can feel easy to postpone. Use the 3 sample memo questions here, deliberately, rather than saving them for the final week. Write full responses under a timer, without notes, exactly as you would in the real exam. Three attempts is enough to find your own weak spots in structure and clarity if you actually sit down and do them properly, rather than skimming the questions and assuming you'd manage on the day.

Days 121–170: Test yourself with the mock exams

Space your 3 full-length mock exams out across this stretch rather than sitting them back-to-back. A realistic rhythm is one mock roughly every two to three weeks, with a genuine review of every wrong answer in between — not just the score. Use the gaps between mocks to revisit the study guide sections and video lessons tied to whichever domain scored weakest.
