You are choosing a Project Management Professional (PMP)® course and keep reading about the “official PMI materials”. Who actually receives them, for how long, and what is inside? This guide settles those questions in plain terms, so you know what to expect before you enroll.

Who gets the official PMI PMP course materials?

Only learners enrolled in a course with a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP) get the official PMI materials.

An ATP is a training provider that PMI has approved to deliver its official PMP course. 3FOLD Training is a PMI Authorized Training Partner, so every learner enrolled in our PMP course receives access to the official PMI materials. Do you need PMI membership?

No. PMI membership is a separate choice and it does not unlock the course materials. What gives you access is the enrollment, not a membership or a PMI account on its own. Our guide to the PMP application process explains where membership does matter.

How long can you access them?

Access lasts one year from the date you activate the course.

The clock starts at activation, not at enrollment. After you enroll, PMI sends an invitation, and you activate the course from it. Activate when you are ready to start studying, so the full year works for you. Our illustrated activation guide shows the steps.

What content do the materials include?

You get a 9-lesson official PMI course aligned with the 2026 PMP Exam Content Outline, plus learning activities, knowledge checks and downloadable resources.

Learners receive the latest version of all the materials. The lessons cover predictive, agile and hybrid ways of working, and they follow the three exam domains.

What about the official mock exams?

The official mock exams come from PMI, and learners receive the latest version of them.

Only learners enrolled with a PMI Authorized Training Partner get access to them. The same rule applies to all the official materials.

How do you get access?

You enroll with an ATP, receive the PMI invitation and activate the course.

1. Step 1. Enroll in a PMP course with a PMI Authorized Training Partner such as 3FOLD Training.

3. Step 3. Activate the course when you are ready to start. Your one year begins here.

What do learners often mix up about access?

Four points cause most of the confusion, and each one is simple once you see it.

• Membership is not access. PMI membership and an account on pmi.org do not unlock the official course materials. Enrollment with an Authorized Training Partner does.
• Enrollment is not activation. Enrolling gets you the invitation. Activating the course is what starts your one-year period.
• Official materials are not the whole course. The materials sit alongside the live training, the trainer and your own practice. They do not stand in for them.
• Access is for enrolled learners. The materials, including the official mock exams, are for learners enrolled with an Authorized Training Partner, and not for the general public.

Do the materials replace the training?

No. The official materials support your learning, but they do not replace attending the training, trainer explanation, exam practice or a study plan.

Treat them as your reference library. The trainer helps you apply the content to exam-style situations, and your study plan keeps you consistent through the weeks before the exam.
